What is the Orchestra Academy?

Welcome to the Orchestra Academy for grades 3 and up! Unleash the power of music as your child embarks on an exciting musical journey that combines learning and fun.

At our program, we believe that orchestra is not only a fantastic way for kids to create beautiful melodies together, but also a platform for personal growth and skill development. Through the magic of music, kids will discover the joy of teamwork, discipline, and creativity.

As participants, your kids will learn to their chosen instrument, understand musical theory, and develop a keen ear for harmonies. From the enchanting melodies of the violin to the strong tones of the bass, they’ll explore a diverse range of instruments, fostering a deep appreciation for music’s rich tapestry.

Beyond the notes and scales, our program fosters social connections that last a lifetime. By collaborating with peers, kids will build friendships and a strong sense of community. Plus, the exhilaration of performing on stage will boost their confidence and self-expression.

Join us in creating unforgettable melodies, lifelong friendships, and a foundation for a lifelong love of music. Enroll your child today and let the symphony of their potential unfold! 🎢🌟

Materials Needed

Students are responsible for renting their own instruments. I recommend the following stores/websites:

  • Music and Arts (7350 W. 88th Ave in Arvada)
  • Mi Vida Strings (3702 W 72nd Ave in Westminster)
  • Flesher-Hinton Music Co (5890 W. 44th Ave in Wheat Ridge)
  • Rockley’s Music Center (8555 W Colfax Ave in Lakewood)
  • Shar Music (sharmusic.com)
  • Southwest Strings (swstrings.com)

Please DO NOT get an instrument from Amazon, Walmart, or Costco. These are my favorite places to shop, but all of their instruments are what I call “toy instruments” β€” they look like a real instrument, but they do not work properly and can never produce a good sound. Do yourself a favor and rent from a reputable store!

All students need an instrument, bow, and rosin. Violin and viola players need a shoulder rest, and cello and bass players need rock stops. Music stores can provide you with these accessories.

Instrument Rentals

We have a small amount of instruments available to rent directly from our program. We currently have the following instruments available, and we will update this list once they are rented out:

Cellos
