Hi everyone! Look below to find out what your orchestra did this week.
Middle School Orchestra
We began our rehearsal by reviewing the 3 songs we have learned so far — Twinkle, Twinkle, Mary Had a Little Lamb, and Lightly Row. They are all sounding great. Thank you so much for practicing at home!
We then learned our notes on the A string on pages 10 and 11. Look these over! Try to memorize where each note is, because the name of the note won’t always be inside of the notehead!
We then decided to learn Frere Jacques for our concert. It is number 88 on page 24. Please practice this at home! I want us to be super confident on this one so that we can do it as a round.
Elementary Orchestra
We began our rehearsal by reviewing the 4 songs we have learned so far — Twinkle, Twinkle, Baby Shark, Mary Had a Little Lamb, and Lightly Row. We are getting there! Please make sure to practice them at home.
We also practiced reading the notes D, E, F#, G, and A on the staff. I am hoping to get you all comfortable with reading those notes soon, because our last concert song doesn’t have the names of the notes inside the notes!
Speaking of, our last concert song will be Old MacDonald. If you would like to start looking at it, it is #42 on page 14. I will teach it to all of you next week. Have a great week!
