Hi everyone! Look below for the rehearsal review for your orchestra.
Middle School Orchestra
- The Abandoned Funhouse — This is going really well! I encourage you to practice it with the practice videos so that you can be solid on how your part fits in with the other ones. Our biggest problem area is from measure 33 to measure 53, so make sure you know that section really well!
- Royal Promenade — This is also sounding great! We were able to play it through with minimal problems. We may need to arrange a time for you to practice with the Elementary Orchestra — I will work on that and keep you posted.
- Seven Nation Army — We practiced with a metronome at 105 and I think it went pretty well! This is our goal tempo for this song, so download a metronome app and practice it at home. We are still struggling with the chorus a bit (measures 23-29), so practice those and make sure they are up to tempo. As a reminder, we will be stopping at measure 33.
Elementary Orchestra
- The Salamander Samba — We started with this and went through letter C with the violins, aka the “I want to go to the grocery store” section! You should be able to play this one from beginning to end.
- Royal Promenade — We reviewed our patterns and the beginning, and then reviewed the middle section from measure 21-measure 29 that we learned next week. At our next rehearsal we will learn the end, and then it will be done! I am working on having the Middle School Orchestra practice with you, so more details on that soon.
- On a Swing — This one was rough today for some reason! A lot of people are just zoning out and not paying attention to what note they play when. You also need to make sure you don’t play in the rests! Try practicing it with the practice videos.
